What do teachers want as gifts?

My friends often ask me to give them gift ideas teachers Christmas when they are choosing Christmas presents for their child’s teacher. I can assure you, no matter what you get your child’s teacher, they will greatly appreciate it. But I have put together this guide if you want some gift for a teacher ideas that are a bit different this year.

Oooh that smells good!

One of my top gifts for teachers is candles, wax melts or diffusers, anything that smells good really. I use these every day at home and I love having lots of different scents stored up which I can use all year round! I still have some wax melts and candles that I got as presents last year that are ready to come out as soon as my Christmas tree is up! There are lots of fragrances on the market ranging from seasonal to everyday scents. Why don’t you choose your favourite scent to gift to your child’s teacher if you aren’t sure which scent to go for?

Candles, wax melts and diffusers are a lovely gift for a teacher ideas which we can use all year round!

There’s nothing better than a wee cup of tea…

One thing teachers use every single day in school is a thermal mug. Oh yes, there’s nothing better than a thermal mug that keeps your tea or coffee warm from the morning all the way to break time. This is a necessity for all teachers and there are lots of them out there, all different shapes and sizes. These are great gifts for a newly qualified teacher. I didn’t think about getting a thermal mug for school until after I was in the classroom for months and actually had the confidence to make myself a cup of tea in the staffroom! (It sounds silly but the staffroom can be a scary place!)

Next on my list of gift for a teacher ideas is a thermal mug. Perfect for chilly winter mornings in the playground.

Bottles, bottles and more bottles!

Anyone who knows me, knows I have an obsession with bottles. The girls I worked with last year used to laugh at me rocking up in the mornings with my thermal cup, my smoothie bottle and my one-litre water bottle under my arm. Oh not forgetting my protein shaker on Fridays. I love bottles, especially the ones with straws or handles, anything really. This is actually one thing that I recommended that my friend get her child’s teacher and she loved this gift.

Having a large bottle for the classroom is one of my favourite gift for a teacher ideas. It is great for making sure your child’s teacher can drink lots of water, keep themselves hydrated and not have to worry about filling up their bottle at break or lunch. My favourite bottle is my one-litre Super Sparrow bottle. This comes in lots of different colours. It also has a carrier strap which is handy if you are carrying lots of bags and books.

This is one of my absolute favourites as a gift for a teacher ideas. Perfect for everyday use in the classroom. I love my Super Sparrow bottle.

Let’s make a plan!

One of my favourite things about the new year is opening up a brand new, crisp page planner. And if it comes with stickers even better! A planner is something that all teachers need and love! Even if it’s just for putting the school holidays in! A planner is a great Christmas gift idea for your child’s teacher especially if it is brightly coloured and pretty. Let’s face it school diaries are boring with cheap paper! This Boxcleaver planner is my go-to planner every year. It has week-to-view pages (a must for teachers), monthly planning pages and notes pages. It even has sections to plan your summer holidays and your Christmas shopping lists. Oh and did I mention that it comes with stickers?

Another perfect gift for a teacher ideas is a planner. Teachers are planners and we love having a pretty planner to do it in.

Pens, pencils and sticky notes!

Another gift for teachers that you can’t go wrong with is stationery! All teachers love pens, pencils and sticky notes! Especially if you can find them in different colours or designs! A great present I got in the past was a personalised stamper for marking my students’ work!

If you are trying to think of gift ideas new teacher, stationery is a good one as they probably haven’t got a huge selection of stationery gathered up yet.

Stationery is a great gift for a teacher ideas as this is an item that we use every single day in the classroom.

See you in the staffroom!

My next gift for a teacher ideas is a practical gift because teachers love being practical. If you want to get your child’s teacher a practical gift, you can get them a brand new lunch bag or canvas bag. Teachers always need bags, whether for their lunch or to bring books home to mark. A bag is something that your child’s teacher will use on a daily basis and if it’s personalised even better!

Lunch bags and tote bags are a fantastic practical gift for a teacher ideas.

Teacher T-Shirts!

This is not something that I have gotten as a gift but if I did I would love it! There are lots of teacher jumpers and t-shirts out there that your child’s teacher could wear in the classroom. Etsy has a wide range of designs and slogans for teacher t-shirts. These are great gift ideas for a teacher friend as you will know their size and style.

What a great gift for a teacher ideas! Personalised teacher t-shirts and jumpers are a very thoughtful gift for the holidays.
